Q: I have installed your deadbolt, but the only way of taking
the key out, is in the unlocked position. Where did I go wrong?
A: The timing of the deadbolt is out. When
installing the inner and outside trim, the deadbolt has to be in
the extended position. Take the inside and outside trim off the
door, extend the deadbolt with the aid of a screwdriver and then
install the inner and outer trim.
